Cypress Creek Event Venue hosted a Rustic-Romantic themed wedding in January 2020. The romantic design elements included various candles, lush floral and bold colors mixed with the muted natural overall color scheme. The 150 person guest count fit perfectly in Cypress Creek Event Venue's large open-air barn. The Unity Tree ceremony site was perfect for the guest count and theme!

1. Ceremony - Unity Tree Site

The Rustic-Romantic ceremony took place in front of Cypress Creek Event Venue's grand and dramatic Unity Tree. The Unity Tree is one of the first things that guests see when they enter the main venue space, as it is quite close to the entrance through the white pergola arch. Several rustic wood signs lead the way to the ceremony site and Cypress Creek Event Venue's guest greeter welcomed the guests at the entrance.

The beginning of the ceremony aisle was adorned with Cypress Creek Event Venue's white wedding doors, which were decorated with grapevine wreaths and white floral. In front of the doors were two of Cypress Creek's rustic wine barrels. Atop the barrels were custom floral arrangements made in-house by Cypress Creek Event Venue's design and floral specialists. The arrangements incorporated the couple's color palette with white and blush roses, burgundy min-carnations, baby's breath and a ton of silver dollar eucalyptus.

Long wooden benches were used to seat the 150 guests, and provide the perfect rustic touch to the ceremony. Cypress Creek Event Venue's one of a kind ceremony arch was decorated with romantic floral in the couple's burgundy and blush color scheme. Additional white floral on the arch allowed the colorful floral to be highlighted rather than muted in the wooden branches of the arch. The rustic wood podium provided the final touch and blended perfectly in the natural environment.

2. Bridal Party Flowers - Chic Designer Level

The bridal party flowers were based on Cypress Creek Event Venue's Chic Designer floral package and the couple's color palette. The bridal bouquet was created with blush and white roses, burgundy mini-carnations, baby's breath and silver dollar eucalyptus, with a white ribbon wrapping the stems. The bridesmaid bouquets were made up of white roses, baby's breath and eucalyptus, with a blush ribbon. The groom's boutonniere was created with a white rose, burgundy mini carnations, a sprig of baby's breath and eucalyptus, with a white ribbon. The groomsmen's boutonnieres was made up of burgundy mini-carnations, baby's breath and eucalyptus, with a burgundy ribbon. The corsages were created as a pin-on style with burgundy mini carnations, baby's breath, and eucalyptus, with a blush ribbon. Overall the bridal party flowers perfectly blended the color palette into the rustic-romantic wedding theme!

3. Reception Decorations - Romantically Rustic

Cypress Creek Event Venue's rustic-chic barn was decorated with white sheer ceiling drapes and their custom grapevine floral wreaths. With the 150 person guest count, a mixture of long feasting tables and round tables were spaced throughout the barn to allow plenty of room for the guests. The couple opted for an upgrade to all chairs, rather than the benches, for the reception.

The venue's custom long farm tables were pushed together to create ultra-long feasting tables for the guests. Different designs were incorporated for the feasting tables versus the round tables, which served to differentiate between the two different styled tables, but at the same time tie the romantic theme together. Natural wooden chairs were utilized for the wooden feasting tables, and traditional white folding chairs were used with the round tables, to blend with the white linens. .

4. Backdrop and Sweetheart Table

A unique backdrop was created for this wedding, made up of hanging greenery, fairy lights and wood branches covered in white floral. The fairy lights twinkled throughout the night behind the newlyweds. Cypress Creek Event Venue's wooden farm sweetheart table was decorated with a white cheesecloth runner. Atop the cheesecloth was a seeded eucalyptus, blush rose, white rose, and burgundy mini-carnation runner, with a center arrangement of blush roses, white roses, and burgundy mini-carnations. A glittery gold Mr. and Mrs. sign sparkled in the light of the chandeliers at the front of the table.

5. Centerpieces and Table Settings

Two different centerpiece designs were included, one for the round tables and one for the wooden farm tables. The round tables utilized white Victorian-style lanterns, with a ring of seeded eucalyptus, baby's breath and burgundy mini-carnations. Gold mercury-glass votive candles surrounded the floral and provided soft candlelight, in addition to the light from the candles. Cypress Creek Event Venue created custom acrylic table numbers with hand-painted calligraphy for the numbers. Gold chargers and burgundy napkins provided the final touch, tying the color palette.

A floral runner, made up of seeded eucalyptus, baby's breath, and burgundy mini-carnations sat atop the cheesecloth. Pillar candles of alternating heights went down the length of the tables, providing a soft candlelit glow throughout the evening. Gold mercury-glass votive candles supplemented the pillar candles and Cypress Creek Event Venue's custom acrylic table numbers broke up the tables into groups of 8 for the seating chart. Gold chargers and burgundy napkins created beautiful place settings down the length of the tables.

Cypress Creek Event Venue held an Alice in Wonderland themed baby shower complete with upgraded level decorations and chic designer floral in their rustic-chic barn. The Alice in Wonderland theme allowed the design team to get very creative with the decorations, creating a whimsical aesthetic with vibrant colors. The whimsical design mixes elements from woodland forest and vintage, along with custom elements to highlight the Alice in Wonderland overall theme. While this design was for a high-end baby shower, this look would also go perfectly for a wedding, bridal shower or birthday party!

1. Entrance - This Way, Wrong Way!

An Alice in Wonderland themed event would not be complete without the signature direction signs. Cypress Creek Event Venue created these directions signs in-house, and placed them at the venue entrance to lead guests in the right (or wrong!) direction. Since the venue is quite large for smaller events such as this, the direction signs were the perfect addition to both set up the theme, and show the guests the way to the rustic barn.

Cypress Creek Event Venue's custom wedding arch was used to frame the front of the barn and bring in the woodland/enchanted forest vibe. Peering through the arch, the guests get a glimpse of the whimsical decorations as they enter the event space. Even though the baby shower takes place in a barn venue, the antiqued wood just adds to the overall aesthetic.

2. Decorations - Mad Tea Party

The barn ceiling was decorated with Cypress Creek Event Venue's signature chandeliers, along with white drapery. Paper lanterns in bright colors popped on the otherwise neutral roof, and brought about the ideal mad hatter's tea party look. The final touch to the ceiling decor was Cypress Creek Event Venue's custom grapevine wreath chandeliers decorated with white floral.

Since the event was on the smaller side, compared to the 150+ person weddings that the venue can hold, a single long feasting table was used to seat the entire event party. Two 16' farm tables were placed together to create a single feasting table, and once again bring in the mad hatter's tea party aesthetic. The feasting table was decorated with tall greenery centerpieces, to bring in the enchanted forest look. In addition to the tall centerpieces, smaller floral centerpieces and vintage book and tea cup centerpieces were used. A greenery runner made using fresh grapevines lines the table, atop a blush cheesecloth runner, and scattered with playing cards.

3. Backdrop - Enchanted Forest

The backdrop was created using greenery and fairy lights. Large clocks and a custom glass frame with hand-painted chalk calligraphy brought in the Alice in Wonderland theme. A vintage green chair was placed at the head of the table for the mom to be.

4. Centerpieces - Painting the Roses Red

Each centerpiece on the farm table was unique! Floral arrangements made up of red and bi-colored roses brought in the "painting the roses red" theme, complete with playing cards and a paintbrush. Various clocks along with framed quotes and illustrations from the book completed the design.

Vintage books and tea cups were also used to create custom centerpieces! Candlesticks and Victorian lanterns brought in the vintage theme. Down the length of the table, the grapevine wreaths meandered through each centerpiece with playing cards dispersed throughout. The framed quotes and illustrations from the book completed the look!

The above slideshow shows some of the unique centerpieces! You can see that no two centerpieces are the same. From the painting the roses red centerpieces, to the vintage tea party centerpieces and even the tall enchanted forest centerpieces, each one is unique! 5. Extras - Photo Booth, Food and Drinks

A cute photo booth was included, complete with Alice in Wonderland themed props. A mad hatter's hat, Cheshire cat ears and leg warmers, white rabbit ears and clock purse, and last but not least a queen of hearts tutu and beaded necklace gave guests tons of choices to pick a character for their photos! A vintage croquet set and vintage tea cart brought a sense of realism to the wacky props.

Since this was a baby shower, the mom to be chose popcorn as the guest favors, complete with a hand drawn "Ready to Pop" sign. Some of the baby shower games included were: baby mad-libs, mommy or daddy trivia, guess the size of the belly (with colorful streamers), and guess the mom to be's age in a childhood photo.

Keeping with the tea party theme, the main foods were finger sandwiches, fruit salad and a vegetable tray. For dessert, cupcakes with custom "eat me" signs were displayed on Cypress Creek Event Venue's cupcake tower. Sugar cookies with icing and Alice in Wonderland themed writing were also included on a smaller cookie tower.

No tea party would be complete without the tea! Since the baby shower took place in an outdoor venue in Florida, the mom to be opted for iced tea instead of hot tea. The various flavors were a huge hit with the guests!

Cypress Creek Event Venue’s unique ceremony arch was kept simple to allow the natural wood beauty to take center stage. A small floral arrangement was centered at the top of the arch to provide a whimsical accent to the woodland-styled arch.

The backdrop was kept simple with a wooden frame with floral arrangements on the corners.

A Polaroid guestbook was a huge hit with the guests! The extra film and batteries kept the camera working all night.

This beautiful rustic-chic wedding took place at Cypress Creek Event Venue in February 2020. While sticking to a classic rustic theme, the decor was all upgraded to give the feeling of being at a formal event, while being at a rustic barn in the rural Florida countryside! Key decor elements were: tall centerpieces with baby's breath floral, burlap and lace runners on round tables, long rustic farm tables, and crystal chandeliers!

A beautiful outdoor space is so important for a rustic wedding ceremony! This wedding took place at Cypress Creek Event Venue's Pristine Pond Background site. The backdrop of the timber bridge, pond and fountain make for a romantic setting. The custom wood arch and white wedding doors bring out the rustic aesthetic!

Hand painted wooden signs line the path to the ceremony. The large live oak trees provide the perfect amount of shade!

The ceremony aisle began with a set of white wooden double doors, with grapevine floral wreaths hanging from each door. In front of the doors were several wooden crates, decorated with simple baby's breath arrangements, small grapevine wreaths and pine cones!

The aisle was lined with wooden logs alternating with shepherd's hooks, both holding baby's breath floral. The rustic wooden benches gave the feeling of outdoor pews under the canopy of oak branches.

The ceiling was decorated with Cypress Creek Event Venue's crystal chandeliers, white ceiling drapes, string lights, and hanging floral arrangements on grapevine wreaths. The barn's wooden trusses and backdrop provide the perfect level of rustic to offset the elegant decor items.

While the wooden farm tables were left bare, with the exception of the centerpieces and greenery, the round tables were draped with white linens and burlap and intersecting burlap and lace runners.

Between the centerpieces was a greenery runner, made up of seeded and silver dollar eucalyptus. Silver votive candles and geometric candle holders provided the final accent to the farm table decor.

Some all-inclusive packages also include photographers, bar services and more!

2. Pros and Cons of All-Inclusive Packages

The main pro of an all-inclusive package is that it saves you time with wedding planning, design and coordination. Instead of searching for catering vendors, florists, bakers and rental companies, these will already be included in your package. In many cases, venues and wedding professionals get specials rates and discounts with companies that they do a lot of business with, which can allow them to pass the savings on to you. Also, wedding professions have typically worked with their vendors many times before and know who is good at their job, so you don’t have to search through reviews to see if a vendor is going to be a good fit.

The main con with the all-inclusive package is variety in options. Let’s say that a venue offers an Italian caterer, but you really want a casual BBQ meal, then the all-inclusive package might be a good fit. If you are comfortable contacting and negotiating with companies, and you have enough time, then this may not be a problem. If, however, you have a busy job or cannot effectively negotiate then this may cause added stress and additional monetary cost to your event.

Secondly, many couples tend to leave out important items and logistics when planning their own wedding. Doing your own floral, making your own centerpieces, etc., can seem doable and a great way to save money, however, there are many logistical obstacles that you have to think of as well. If you are doing your own floral, where are you going to store it until the wedding? Do you know how to keep hydrangeas from wilting or turning brown? Are you looking for a rustic wedding but not necessarily the country/farm theme? You might like the woodland forest aesthetic! Woodland forest weddings have a natural atmosphere, utilizing large trees, wooded areas and nature-based decor. Woodland forest weddings remind me of the fairytale princess meeting her prince in the enchanted forest!

1. The Ceremony

The focus of the ceremony is always the arch/arbor where the bride and groom will be centered. To get the woodland forest vibe we used Cypress Creek Event Venue’s custom ceremony arch. As you can see, the arch is made with rustic, vine-like wood pieces and is decorated with simple floral and a brass chandelier. The best thing about Cypress Creek’s arch is that it is mobile, and can be moved to whichever ceremony site the couple chooses.

The overall decor for the ceremony is simple and natural. Oak logs, white floral, and white wedding chairs. The background of the large live oak tree sets most of the woodland atmosphere.

2. The Reception

To bring the woodland forest theme to a barn venue, we added natural pieces to make up the centerpieces and decor. Thick wood cookies with white roses and pine cones make a beautiful, multi-layered centerpiece. A grape vine and rose wreath chandelier adds the perfect accent to the table!

Farm tables with lots of floral are a simple way to bring out the woodsy aesthetic. Another great addition to the farm table is a fresh eucalyptus runner down the center! Farm tables also eliminate the need for linens, which can take away from the natural atmosphere.

3. The Venue

One of my favorite things about Cypress Creek Event Venue is the wooded nature trail, complete with a rustic timber bridge and a flowing creek! The timber bridge makes a great photo-op during cocktail hour. The large oak trees that surround the nature trail have uplighting, so that they are visible at night.

The bar area in Cypress Creek Event Venue’s reception barn is made with live-edge cedar coated in a hardened epoxy resin. The bar top really adds to the woodland forest vibe with the live-edge boards. While guests order their drinks, they take time to admire the bar top and appreciate the authenticity.

Throughout the venue there are rustic signs, like this direction sign at the entrance. The direction signs especially add to the woodland feel by adding an element of adventure. Guests see the sign and instantly look around the venue area to find their bearings.

4. Overall

The woodland forest wedding is another take on the always popular rustic wedding. A woodland forest wedding relies on the natural elements of the venue, and nature-based decor to bring out the theme. Greenery, wildflowers, and oaks logs are all great elements to include in a woodland wedding.

There are many design elements that make up a great rustic wedding. From perfectly designed centerpieces to a beautiful outdoor ceremony, the right rustic wedding aesthetic will always make for Pinterest-worthy pictures. Today we are going to talk about different types of rustic signage and how they can add to your outdoor barn wedding!

1. Chalkboard Sandwich Signs

One of my favorite types of signs is a simple chalkboard sandwich sign. We made these signs out of plywood, chalkboard paint, and rough cut cedar boards.

There are many uses for chalkboard signs. They make great options for event day schedules, seating charts, menus, drink lists, and more. The best thing about chalkboard signs is that they can be customized for each event! Did the menu change? No problem, erase the writing and start again! Chalkboard signs give you the perfect rustic look without the permanence of painted signs!

To get the fancy calligraphy look on your chalkboard signs, use a chalk marker instead of regular chalk. The chalk marker let’s you write much easier and gives you a cleaner line. Also, if you aren’t confident in your letter design, download some fancy calligraphy fonts and design your sign beforehand on a word processing program. While your sign might not turn out perfect, part of the rustic wedding appeal is having an authentic hand-written sign rather than a simple computer printout. You can always hire an artist to design your sign as well! I guess learning cursive in elementary school finally paid off!

2. Direction Signs

Direction signs set up a fairytale atmosphere at the venue. These signs take me back to my childhood obsession with the Alice in Wonderland cartoon when she is lost in the woods. In addition to being a great photo-op, the signs are also useful as they can point guests in the right direction for important areas around the venue. In large, farm-style venues it’s not always clear which direction to go. If you don’t have a guest greeter for your event, direction signs can play an important role in helping guests find their way.

3. Painted Wedding Signs

“The signs can be customized for your event, or just a generic wedding sign.”

Simple painted wedding signs on a wooden plank are no doubt the easiest signs to create for an event. All that you need to make these signs is: a nice plank of wood, some exterior latex acrylic paint, and a paintbrush. The signs can be customized for your event, or just a generic wedding sign.

Some of my favorite custom signs are: the couple’s initials, wedding hashtag, favorite quote, couple’s last names, etc.. some of my favorite generic signs: wedding, Mr. & Mrs., love, popular wedding quotes (i.e. pick a seat not a side..., love is patient...), etc..

4. Overall

Signs can add so much to your outdoor wedding or event. There are many different types signs, each adding a unique design element.

There are many options for a cake table. From a round table, rectangular table, farm table, barrel table, etc.. One of our favorite ways to display a cake is on an old fashioned, wooden, English tea cart! We found this beauty on the antique section of Craigslist! There are also many options to buy them new from a variety of stores. The tea cart also makes a great place to display favors, or for a rustic candy bar!
